Dillon Brooks' agent calls out 'weirdo' reporter

Tuesday, Shams Charania reported the Grizzlies wouldn't have Dillon Brooks back. Wednesday, Brooks' agent shot back.

Mike George from OneLegacy Sports Management represents Brooks, as well as Jamal Murray and Brooks' Grizzlies teammate Kenneth Lofton, Jr. Or, if Charania's report is accurate, a former teammate.

George is pushing back on the anti-Brooks narrative, sharing videos of J.J. Redick disputing the Charania report, and Shannon Sharpe calling the scapegoating of Brooks "bull-jive." Sharpe's comments are notable, given his clash with Brooks at a Lakers game this year.

Based on our research, this is also the first time a player agent has used "#weirdo" to disparage a reporter in a tweet.

It's not clear who Charania's sources were in the report that Memphis would "under no circumstances" have Brooks back. But with Brooks entering unrestricted free agency, the comments might hurt Brooks' value on the market.

Though probably not as much as his performance in the first round, where he talked trash to LeBron James, then gave up key baskets to James late. He also shot 23.8 percent from three-point range, which is probably worse.

George notably did not contradict a report from another NBA reporter, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, when she reported Memphis parted ways over Brooks' contract demands.

Regardless of the veracity of these reports, it seems appropriate that Brooks has an agent who is also eager to talk trash.
